Basic course Motorbikes

You must complete the mandatory basic course within four months after receiving of the learning licence. After that, the learning licence is extended for a further 12 months. You will complete the course with us within two days. Our course contains practical exercises for safe control of the motorbike or scooter and builds the basics for further training on the road.

Courses are held in dialect/Swiss German (and, if required, High German). German language skills should at least correspond to the A2 standard of the European Language Portfolio.

Driving lessons Motorbikes

We are happy to provide private lessons and offer essential tips and tricks to guide your motorbike or scooter safely on the road. We also provide exciting refresher driving lessons or “spring warm-up” lessons.

Spring Warm-Up Course

After the winter break, you may be a little rusty. We have an exciting and appealing course for you so that you can start the motorbike season safely. In this course we will work on the following topics, among others
topics: Correct manoeuvring in low-speed driving, knowing and understanding your own braking system, emergency braking, cornering.

Course duration: 4 hours
Course fee: CHF 190.00 (incl. drink)
Bring along: Operationally safe motorbike

Motorbike categories and training

Category A1 (Small motorcycles)
Minimum age: 15 years

Motorcycles with a cubic capacity up to 50cm³ or a power of max. 4 kW.
Maximum speed: 45km/h

Basic courses: 1 + 2 + 3

Practical exam: Yes

Category A1 (Motorbikes)
Minimum age: 16 years

Motorbikes with a cylinder capacity not exceeding 125 cm3 and a maximum engine power of 11 kW.

Basic courses: 1 + 2 + 3

Practical exam: Yes

Those in possession of category B do not have to take a practical examination.

A limited 35 kW (Motorcycles)
Minimum age: 18 years

Motorcycles with a cubic capacity of more than 125cm³ and a power of more than 11 kW up to max. 35 kW.

Basic courses: 1 + 2 + 3

Practical exam: Yes

Category A (Motorcycles)
Minimum age: 20 years

Motorcycles with a power of more than 35 kW. No direct entry possible!
(Exception: police, traffic exp., motorcycle mech.)

Practical exam: Yes

This category can be used at the earliest 2 years after passing the Cat. A2 (35 kW, 48 PS).
